Before I got married I had a little Christmas business and I helped people address their Christmas cards. I had only one customer even though I tried to get my name out there every year. I think that darling woman used me three Christmases. I wish I had nicer handwriting, then it could really be a great business. But that's the entrepreneurial spirit: finding a need and filling it.

There are actual companies that pay individuals per envelope to address for them. You have to have really great handwriting though. These jobs are few and far between, but if you can find one it would be a great job I think.

That would be great work. Where do you go to learn to improve your handwriting? That's actually something I've always wanted to do.

Be careful there are scams going on these days where you recieve an ad in the mail from a company saying that they need people to address their envelopes for them. I recieved one a while ago and thought it looked too good to be true. So I googled it up and found sooo many alarming information about it being a huge scam. So watch out guys!

Melena, you are very right. Most of the companies that will confront you are scammers. Just be sure to do your research. Most people that need envelope addressers will post an ad on a website that hires transcriptionist and such.

That sounds a lot like the envelope stuffing scam. How did the ad look? Did you advertise your services as ad addresser? Then it wouldn't seem like a good idea to me.

Envelope stuffing scams have been around for ages. The newest thing is money laundering and selling stolen goods. Basically a company "hires" you to collect money and then ship out an item (usually electronic or high priced) from your location. This type of scam can land you in jail.

If you are into doing letters and special things for the holidays have you thought about your own "holiday" letter business? I have seen a few online that market during holidays like Christmas, Easter, etc. They often little goodie bags and "hand written" letters.
