As a home crafter, I write instructionals for magazines I have loads of material, supplies that I just shove off of the table when I need to make dinner. What I found is that too often I have no room. we have come up with a few small solutions thatd ont cost aot to combat.
If you ahve a room that you are not using, cover the walls in Blackboard. Its cheap, great insulation and paintable, wallpaperable, This is especially good if you ahve no walls or are going to be somewhere drafty.
If you have a wall thaast not doing anything but taking up space, turn this into your cafts nook.
Buy shelving runners three to 5 runs, and good solid wood shelving. Particle board wil not take the weight of a machine or heavy supplies like molds.
This keeps things neat and tidy but within easy reach.
If you are like me, and have extra outbuildings..
liek an old potter shed, or outdoor storage shed, they are just teh right size to make acrafting studio out of.
Visit yard sales, builders supplies places( these are companies that glean useable materials from torn down buildings) and purchase what ever you can at afraction of of the cost.
YArd sales are the best places ot find office chairs, supplies( I got a 1916 Singer machine that works and a drafting tabel of oak for 29 bucks!)
Also Goodwill and Amvets often have items for furnishing office that only a vacumme cleaner and spray will make it look new for a fraction of the cost.
If your on a tighter budget glean tehweb for companie sthat offer sample sizes of offie products, Youc an often get tape, pencils, pens, paper and so on in just enough to get you through atleast one job. But begin now and accumulate.
