I see many are having problems with the combination being lost. That is why the first thing I did was to change the combination and register it with the Sentry folks, that way I can access it whenever needed.

I DO however have a problem that has never been mentioned here before. My safe, the S3807 home safe handle is not properly working. The combination is accepted, the green light show it so, but the handle won't open. This is getting worse and worse.

Today it took 21 times putting the combination in before the handle would come down.

I am not sure what to do in this case?

ANy suggestions from cyberland?

Lost combination: First, find your safe’s Model and Serial

Number. The Serial Number is in this packet, and is also printed

on the small label beside the door hinge (outside). Send a copy

of this, a notarized letter (last name must be different than that

of owner) stating you are the safe’s owner, and a check or money

order for $12.00* (U.S. funds) to: Sentry Group, Dept. 200,

I have changed the battery on my sentry safe and can not get the key nor the handle to work. I have lost my manual and do not know the generic number for opening the safe. I know the numbers in the combination but not how many turns each way. I can see the string which is attached to the tag but it doesn't help me from inside the safe. The safe is about 14 x 26. Orange label on door numbers are B469319. Can you tell me about the number of turns right and left?

If you have the combination, the rest is simple. First, turn the knob to the right a bunch of times to clear everything. Next, starting at 0, turn left and pass your first number twice, stopping on it the third time. Next, turning right, pass your second number once, stopping on it the second time. Finally, turning left, go straight to your third number and stop. Turn your lower handle to the left and pull.

I just bought a 14 gun safe from the back of a truck about half price. It was supposedly defective and slated to be destroyed, but this thing is in perfect condition. The paint is chipped on one corner, I guess that makes it unsellable.

I removed the inner door panel to expose the locking mechanisms, and I was wondering if there was an easy way to change the numbers in the combination. Without contacting a locksmith.

Anyone have any answers?
