talk - Office Furniture Great desk |

I am forever looking for the ideal desk for me. I gave up looking because our last two houses had built-in desks off the kitchen and I just used those. This house doesn't have that so I needed to get a desk for my office again. I found the perfect desk at Sam's Club of all places. This desk is sturdy and has everything I need. And it was under $600.

Sams has some great furniture items at great prices. We bought two recliners there about 5 years ago and they are still in great shape. I think we paid less than 1000.00 for the pair. You can also get some great desks at Office Depot. That is where we bought ours and it has some great storage space and shelves.

I've gotten some good deals at Office Max. There was a new one that opened up by me and they had a huge grand opening sale on their furniture. I scored big time on a desk - it's L-shaped - and ended up getting a couple file cabinets too.

I worked at Office Depot. I liked the furniture but it cost way too much and it wasn't for me. It really wasn't right for my needs. I wish DallasCowgirl posted a link to the desk she was talking about. I'll go to Sam's and see if I see one I like.

I tend to visit garage sales and find a used desk that is cheap and still useable. Often i find such GREAT deals for desks and office furniture in general. I adore garage sales and flea markets too much so it's just a fun adventure every time.

Do you really still find good things at garage sales? They're not like they were when I was little. When I was a little girl my mom could furnish the house and clothe the kids. Now I would hardly stop for the junk that people put out.

Garage sales are a great place to find things but it takes a long time to go from one to the other to find quality stuff for sale.Another way is look in the classifieds for business that are going out of business. Go offer them some decent but fair price for their used furniture and office equipment and you can usually get some great deals. A lady who had an office in our apartment building was retiring and she was selling great office chairs for like $50 each. The kind that move up/down, tilt, arm rest tilt, etc. I bought a few for friends of mine. She also had desks and computer and filing cabinets and they went for next to nothing. In fact at the end when the lease on the office was up she was giving a lot of it away. So look for things like that and they can be a gold mine.

We are kind of cramped for space so my husband is actually looking for one that he can put in the corner of our bedroom. He's very particular, and so far after a couple of months he still hasn't found one. We have been to every office store imaginable, and are now looking at actual furniture stores.

It took a while for me to purchase my desk as well, and you'll never believe where I ended up buying one - IKEA. I really was hesitant to go there in the first place but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a great deal and it was exactly what I wanted.
