Computer Cleaning

Does anyone have ausggestion for cleaning the vents in the back and sides of my computer. They are always full of dust and seem to find every piece of lint in my house attached to the entrances of the fan openings. I am afraid I am going to damage my keyboard from banging it upside down on my desk to get the dirt out.

Hi, I have this same problem at work.I actually find cleaning the keyboard and computer with a toothbrush works great, but put a little alcohol on the brush and it brings the computer out very clean! I'd use some antibacterial spray on the cleaned surfaces as that gets rid of the booze smell :)

I was wondering this same thing and like you my vents are always full of dust and everything else!! I will have to try the alcohol for cleaning :) I have found that the windex wipes work great for cleaning the screen on my monitor though :)

They make a spray that you can get at an office supply store, or I bet you can just use that air in a can stuff. I use that to clean out our dust on the keyboard.

I do use "Perfect Duster". It is essentially air in a can. It works great...I actually use it to clean the knickknacks on my plant shelves too!!

There is also a product called "Dust-Off" which you can get in most office supply stores too. It also comes with a straw that you can attach to the nozzle which will fit inside the disk drawers and you can spray them too. There is nothing but air that comes out from it and so you don't have to worry about anything inside getting sticky. As far as the keyboard is concerned try using your small brush on your vaccuum cleaner to suck most of the bits and pieces out of the keyboard. You can also get small vacs that are made especially for cleaning the dust out of the keyboards.
